Example:

If it's 1991, you're not allowed to trade your 1994 picks.
We have a current maximum limit of 3 years.

As of the 2018 draft, picks up to 2021 can be moved

In 2011, the 2014 picks could be moved etc...
And I'm suggesting a 2 year window. (I didn't state it clearly the first time)

3 year window is too much, waters things down IMO

I agree with switching to a 2 year window....3 is too much, even based on the turnover we've had in the league in recent years, 3 years can really handicap a new GM if a GM were to leave. If someone takes over a team and the former GM traded away 3 years worth of picks...Its not a great starting point for that new GM, may be harder to keep them on board. Just a thought.

That's a very good point and one I hadn't considered.

Right.. but if someone else does, and they leave, it will fuck over new GM's and decrease the chances of them wanting to join...

I think we go forward with a 2 year window. 3 is far too much.

That's what I meant! 2 years is ok with me as well. As of now 2021 can be moved. And then next draft, 2021 will be the limit as well.

I think if we make it a rule, as of now 2021 is off limits.

Can't be.. I've already traded 2021 picks. I'd have to allow others the same courtesy.

Any rule changes from off season discussions have always taken place after the following season...Needs to be voted on during the season.

And they will. Once voted upon (and I'm sure it'll pass) picks up until 2021, whether beginning at the 2018 draft or 2019 draft will be the furthest ahead we will most likely allow picks to be traded.
