I would suggest if it is replaced it is not replaced with a goalie category as it’s been mentioned before how goalies stats hold the balance of power.

Where are we on goalie saves being a stupid stat and removing it from this pool next season?
We talked about it at length in the offseason.

In fact we talked about a few things but evidentially we never really recapped and came to any conclusions/decisions.

I like the 8-5 ratio in categories.. it gives equal value to both players and goalies. So that I wouldn't consider changing in terms of category ratio.

What we were talking about the other day was the idea of maybe dropping shorthanded points and shutouts, making it a 7-4 (same as 8-5 essentially).. but I'm indifferent with that either way. Basically since they are more so luck categories. No one scours the WW for shutouts, but we can dig for hits, blocks or add backups for saves.

Also, on the add/drops - signings and call ups would have to be tied in, since the roster moves on Yahoo are the number of call ups. So whether you want to add (insert number) or sign it kinda goes hand-in-hand. I dont mind the lower number.. man it's a lot of work sometimes to keep it all updated lol (and I'm one that contributes as well).

We could switch Yahoo for Fantrax to make Steve's work more simple. Use it for the Matchups and rosters and keep the forum for trade, waivers, drafts and the rest.

Alright, I slightly prefer Yahoo too, was mostly proposing this to simplify your work!

But for the FA signing / roster moves thing, I think that if we make a clear rule about it, it can easily work separately. Anyway, right now if we sign a free agent straight to the minors it doesn't count towards the limit of 5.

I'm not opposed to removing shutouts, but like Steve said 8-5 seems like it's working fine. Could be an issue if teams built themselves around goalies though.

I also agree with lowering the FA signing limit and keeping roster moves at 5. Definitely could be separate in my opinion.
